Cherokee Heritage Center

. Description:  The Cherokee Heritage Center is located on 44 heavily wooded acres, three miles south of Tahlequah, Okla., just off Highway 62 on Willis Road.  The Center lies tucked away in the Oklahoma foothills of the Ozark Mountains.
            Located on the exact spot where the Cherokee national Female Seminary once stood, the first school of higher education for women west of the Mississippi River, the Cherokee Heritage Center offers many activities and events designed to educate the public about Cherokee culture. Picnic There are numerous picnic tables on the Cherokee Heritage Center grounds for visitors to sit at.

Vending machines are located inside the Cherokee Heritage Center National Museum in the atrium.   

Restaurant The Gathering Place is located on the grounds of the Cherokee Heritage Center in front of the Ancient Village.  The Gathering Place serves snacks, drinks and light lunches.
